HEYLIFE / MANIFESTO

You get one life. Play it well.

This is what we believe at Heylife AI, why we are building, and what we will not do to get there. If any of this rings a bell, you are the person we are building for.

01 / THESISYou get one shot. Don't waste it on someone else's game.

The default settings of modern life are not yours. Most of what fills the day was authored by a feed, a manager, a pricing team, or a parent who meant well thirty years ago. You inherit a calendar of other people's priorities and call it your life.

We think there is a better way to play this. You get one life. There is no checkpoint, no New Game Plus, no respawn. The game is short, the energy is finite, and the only question that matters is whether the moves you made today moved you closer to the life you actually want.

Heylife is built for the people who feel that and want to do something about it. Not a productivity hack, not a habit tracker, not a chat companion. A life-execution agent that names what matters, plans the next move, and ships the work.

02 / NORTH STARFind your North Star. Measure everything against it.

Before any of this works, you need a North Star.

A North Star is a guiding principle, a guiding light, a fixed reference point that helps you navigate your life and make decisions aligned with your values and where you want your life to take you. It is the question you run every choice against: does this take me toward my North Star, or away from it? Does this relationship? Does this project? Does this job, this opportunity, this idea I'm curious about?

Heylife AI, on the founding principle

A North Star can be concrete, like buying land and building an eco-house on it within ten years. It can be values-based, like freedom, or creativity, or kindness. It can be identity-based, like developing the part of you that is eccentric and silly. The shape does not matter. What matters is that it exists, that you can name it, and that you actually use it as the test.

Most apps assume you already know. Most people don't. Heylife starts here, on purpose, because every other feature is downstream of this one decision.

03 / THE GAMELife is a video game. HP and MP are finite.

Life is a video game. You have a limited amount of HP and MP. You get one playthrough. The buckets you invest in are the buckets that decide whether you win.

The HP/MP framing

HP is your body, your sleep, your nervous system, your years on the clock. MP is your attention, your focus, your willingness to do hard things before noon. Both regenerate, but neither is infinite, and both are leaking right now into things you would not choose if anyone asked you.

There are five buckets in this game. Health. Work. Relationships. Money. Family. They are not equal week to week, and they are not supposed to be. But over a lifetime, neglecting any one of them shows up on the bill.

Heylife shows you the buckets. It tracks where the HP and MP are actually going. And then it does something most software refuses to do: it makes a move on your behalf.

04 / WHY MOST APPS FAILJournals reflect. To-do lists pile up. Companions just listen.

We have looked at thousands of reviews of the existing tools, and the pattern is brutal. Journals are a mirror; they do not move. To-do lists are a graveyard; they fill up faster than you can clear them. And the new wave of AI life companions that cannot act are, in the words of the people who actually use them, talking journals. They listen at 2 AM, they validate, they remember your dog's name. Then nothing changes.

Reflection without execution is a hobby. A real life agent should hear what you said at 2 AM and have moved something by 8. Otherwise you are paying a subscription for a very polite mirror.

05 / WHAT HEYLIFE ISIt names what matters, then it ships the awkward email.

Heylife is one product with three jobs.

It names what matters. You tell it your North Star, in your words, in a voice note if you want. It maps that down to your five buckets and tells you, honestly, which bucket is wilting this week.

It listens at 2 AM. When you are spiraling about the call you didn't make, or the gym you skipped for ten days, or the parent you have not phoned, it is there, and it does not flinch.

It plans by morning, and it ships by 8. The next move is in your inbox before you are awake. The awkward email to your old mentor is drafted. The dentist appointment is booked. The grocery order is in. The training plan is updated for your knee. The work you keep avoiding has a first sentence already written, waiting for you to finish.

That is the difference between a journal and an agent. A journal says, "tell me more." An agent says, "I sent it. Read this before your 9."

06 / PICK YOUR COUNCILYour advisors are real. We do not pick them for you.

Most chat products give you five stock personas. A coach. A therapist. A best friend. A mentor. A monk. They are flat, they are generic, and you do not actually trust their advice, because you don't know them.

Heylife flips this. You pick your council. A mentor whose podcast you replay on long flights. A thinker whose books you have actually finished. A grandparent who is gone, but whose letters you still have and can upload. A founder whose memos you've read twice. A coach you trained with for one summer and never forgot. Real role models, with real corpus, that you have a real relationship with.

We do not invent voices. We do not roleplay therapy. We do not put words in the mouth of someone you love. We surface their actual published thinking, with citations, and we let it advise the version of you that is making this week's decisions. The council is yours, and so is the responsibility for who sits on it.

07 / WHERE WE BUILDParis and Taipei. Pre-launch. We are honest about the part that is not built yet.

We build out of Paris and Taipei. Two cities, six time zones apart, which means someone is always shipping. Heylife is in private beta. The waitlist is real, and the invites are weekly.

Some of what we describe on this page works today. The North Star intake, the bucket map, the morning brief, the council with citations, the awkward-email drafter, the calendar and inbox sub-agents. Other parts are still in the oven. Long-horizon memory across years, deeper integrations into health and finance, family-shared agents, the offline mode for when the network drops at the worst possible moment.

We will not pretend the half-built parts are shipped. We will tell you what works, what is rough, and what is coming. If that bothers you, wait six months. If it doesn't, the waitlist is at the bottom of this page.

08 / WHAT WE WILL NOT DOThe principles we will not move on.

  • We will not pull the rug on early users. If you joined the private beta and put your life into this product, your data and your pricing tier are protected as we grow. Read the privacy commitments in plain language.
  • We will not store memory we cannot defend. If a piece of context cannot be encrypted at rest, scoped to your account, and deleted on a single request, it does not get stored. Period.
  • We will not cosplay therapy. Heylife is a life agent, not a clinician. If something needs a human professional, we say so, and we point you out of the app, not deeper into it.
  • We will not optimize for time-in-app. The metric we care about is whether your life moved this quarter. If you spent less time in Heylife and more time living, we did our job.
  • We will not fake the council. No deepfake voices, no synthetic quotes, no pretending a dead author said something they didn't say. Real corpus, real citations, real source links, every time.
  • We will not sell ads against your life. Your North Star is not inventory. We are a paid product. That is the whole business model.

09 / YOUR MOVEYou read this far. That means something.

If you got to the bottom of a manifesto with no pictures, you are not casually shopping for a productivity app. You are looking for the thing that finally makes the next ten years of your life add up. We are building that thing. We would like you to play it with us.
