HEYLIFE / AGENT · MONEY BUCKET

Money coach.

The agent that turns "where did my money go this month" into a 15 minute conversation with a plan at the end.

Money coach is the AI personal finance assistant inside heylife.ai. It is built to run the weekly money review with you, flag the subscriptions you forgot, schedule the savings transfer the day after payday, and rewrite the budget when life changes. AI for budget coaching that does not pretend you live in a spreadsheet, just helps you actually own where the money is going.

01 / WHAT IT DOESFrom "where did it all go" to a plan you can defend.

Most personal finance apps dump a category pie chart on you and call it insight. Money coach is built to be the friend who has read the books, knows your goal, and is willing to ask the awkward question. Here is the shape of the work it is designed to do.

WEEKLY REVIEW

Once a week, it will run the money review with you in 15 minutes: income in, fixed out, variable out, drift from plan. Plain language. No jargon. Just where the money went and what it means.

ZOMBIE SUBS

It will surface the subscriptions you forgot you had, the price hikes you did not notice, and the duplicates you are paying for twice. It drafts the cancel email; you tap send.

PAYDAY MOVE

It will schedule the savings transfer for the day after payday so the money you said you would save actually leaves the checking account before you can spend it.

REVISE THE BUDGET

When your context shifts (raise, kid, move, gap year, freelance pivot), it will draft the revised budget in your voice, walk you through what changed, and help you ship it.

SAY NO

When you are tempted to spend on something that does not fit the goal, it will help you say no on purpose: a one-paragraph "this is why I am skipping this" you can use as the answer to yourself, or to the friend asking you on the trip.

QUARTERLY CHECK

Each quarter, it will surface the trend: is the savings rate moving the right way, are the categories drifting, is your runway getting longer or shorter, and what is the one move that would change the slope.

02 / WHAT IT REMEMBERSYour numbers, in your context.

Money coach draws on the layer every heylife agent shares: what you have told the product about your income, your obligations, your goals (build a runway, buy a home, take a year off), and your council. It reads bank and card data through Plaid (or imported exports), and it remembers the last 12 months of how you actually spent versus what you said you would. Every nudge shows the memory it pulled from, so when it claims "you are over on dining out for the third month," you can click straight to the lines that prove it.

03 / INSPIRED BY YOUR COUNCILThe voice in the room with your money.

heylife does not ship stock advisor personas. You build the council. For Money coach, you might seat the people whose financial discipline you respect, not who shouts loudest on the internet.

  • Ramit Sethi, or whichever money writer you actually read. Real corpus, real citations, used to advise this month's call. Not a roleplay; the writer you have already learned from, in the room with your numbers.
  • The grandparent who paid off the house in 11 years on a salary you'd consider modest. Their playbook becomes a template, with the unsexy moves named: kill the small fees, keep the big lifestyle creep in check, do the boring transfers.
  • The friend who actually built freedom money. Not the loud one, the quiet one with the spreadsheet. Their habits become the reference, so Money coach can ask "what would they do here" in your voice, not a generic one.

04 / INTEGRATIONSWhere it plugs into your money.

  • PLAIDReads accounts, balances, transactions across banks and cards. Read-only by default.
  • BANK EXPORTSIf you do not want a Plaid link, drop CSV statements; it parses and reconciles them.
  • GMAIL (OPTIONAL)Drafts subscription cancel emails and bank-question emails as drafts you send.

05 / WHAT YOU STAY IN CONTROL OFIt never moves your money on its own.

Money coach is built to never quietly move a dollar. Every transfer is proposed first; you approve, edit, or skip. Bank connections are read-only by default; write access (initiating transfers) is a separate opt-in that you can revoke at any time. There is a full audit log of every read, every proposal, every approved action. Your financial data is encrypted at rest, never sold, never used to train public models, and exported in your format the day you ask.

Mini FAQ.

Does Money coach act without asking?

No. It will read your accounts, draft the budget, queue the savings transfer, and surface the cancel-this-subscription email; nothing actually moves money or hits send without your approval. Read-only by default; write access is a separate, revocable opt-in.

Can I tune the tone?

Yes. Some people want the no-nonsense CFO; some want the calm friend who already paid off their house. Set it once in the council, change it any quarter. Money coach matches your voice and the voice of the people you have seated.

What does it draw from?

Plaid or your bank exports for transactions, your stated goal and timeline, the last 12 months of how you actually spent, and your council for the lens. Every claim it makes is backed by lines you can click into and verify.
